Curtain Up Since 1962

The Guild Theatre was born from a post-war passion for the arts. Founded in 1953 by a group of East London theatre enthusiasts, the Guild opened its iconic doors on 6 October 1962 with a production of The School for Scandal.

Over six decades later, we remain East London's premier venue — hosting community productions, touring professional shows, youth arts education, and everything in between.
